Yearning for the food of her native Austria, visual artist Zipora Fried has opened this 15-seat coffee shop that boasts a food menu of her homeland favorites. Named in part for actor Klaus Kinski, the joint specializes in caffeine-heavy drinks like java fare made with beans from popular Austrian brand Julius Meinl. The Hot Nutella drink is a nutella-and-milk variation of the hot chocolate. As for food, the menu is studded with sweet and savory Austrian classics, including sandwiches made with Vienna-style breads, sweet or savory knödel dumplings, and Kaiserschmarren (aka Emperor's Pancake)—a weekend brunch item that comes with a side of plum preserves.
