Cafe Pedlar

- Brooklyn , NY 11201
- No phone
- Price range: $ (Under $9)
If there's one thing Cobble Hill needs (besides sidewalk stroller lanes), it's a proper coffee shop. Until now, with all due respect to shabby chic Tea Lounge, neighborhood denizens who appreciate the intricacies of the really good stuff haven't had anywhere to turn. Now the Franks (Frank Castronovo and Frank Falcinelli), who own the popular Court Street and LES Italian Spuntinos, are serving up revered Stumptown espresso and French-press drinks in a carefully curated corner shop. Replacing Margaret Palca Bakes' self-serve salad bars and ruggelach is a simple cafe of a dozen seats, minimal flower arrangements, a shiny new La Marzocca espresso machine and rustic baked goods like Frankie's olive oil cake and rectangular slices of cheese cake. Sandwiches, with Frankie's trademark bread, will also be served. Belying the cool vibe however, is a surprising punch card offering a free coffee for every 10 you purchase.
