The coffee you drink and where you get it says a lot about you in New York. Whether you stand by your brandless joe from the guy at the Greek diner, leave work every day at 3 p.m. for a Starbucks Spice Creme Frappuccino (that's programmed into the drink, by the way), or bite your thumb at anyone who doesn't know the ins and outs of a partially over-extracted and partially under-extracted Stumptown pour-over—somebody's taking mental notes. Appearance is a winning game at Moda, a chic FIT-hood espresso bar that looks equal parts fashion boutique and coffee bar, with a window display made to look like a clothing shop and white walls tastefully adorned with art. In addition to a full menu of espresso-based drinks, Moda serves pastries, pizzas and salads and sandwiches named for fashion illuminati like Fendi, Armani and Versace.
