Takahachi Bakery

This industrious and creative little bakery, from the owner of Takahachi restaurants in the East Village and Tribeca, offers a little something for everyone. The pastry cases are filled with sweets that most customers will recognize—chocolate chip cookies, danish—but the real treat is when east meets west, in creative fare like matcha macarons and black sesame cream puffs. Besides the adorable sweets, the ovens turn out a wide range of breads, and a rotating list of sandwiches (shrimp mayo, chicken teriyaki) and salads also tend toward a fusion bent. Sorbets and gelato round out the offerings, in case the huge range of room-temp desserts fails to satisfy your needs.
