Verde Coal Oven Pizza

One of the city's few coal-fired ovens is back from the ashes in Bushwick thanks to Sicily-born Charlie Verde, who restored the 1907 fire- breather and its Irving Avenue digs to open Verde Coal Oven Pizza. The quaint brick dining room seats a handful of people dining on a selection of eleven pies, ranging from the classic margherita to a more indulgent brocoletta salsiccia topped with broccoli rabe, parsley and cheese sausage, mozz and garlic. Not to mention a handful of apps and freshly baked goods like biscotti and bread.
