Jeremy's is a Front Street institution, serving up beer and bar food to locals and tourists alike since 1974, from 8 in the morning until late at night. Yup, 8 a.m. An hour when many of us are still asleep. Jeremy's would be gross if it weren't so strangely comfortable: Yes, the lights are ugly, yes some of the patrons are sloppy-drunk, yes the floor is crappy and chunky, yes there are dusty bras hanging from the ceiling, but it's also warmly rowdy, and it takes all kinds: old men, young women, young men, old women, people in fancy but beer-stained clothes.
Onion rings are $2.95, and a pint of Coors Original, served in a styrofoam cup, is a bankruptcy-friendly $3.75. Basically, Jeremy's is great in the way that spending time with your fun but kind of scary alcoholic bachelor uncle is great.
