Over in Red Hook, Alan Harding (Patois), Jim Mamary and Harry Hawk have created an homage to the hamburger and the hot dog. It's no big things to cross the BQE, especially on Monday and Tuesday nights, when Schnack offers its $39.95 dinner for two (bottle of wine included). This section of Union St. has been up-and-coming for awhile, with this comfort food haven at the center of the renaissance. And for the ultimate hangover crushing meal go with the brunch special (available Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. & 10 p.m. to close). $9.45 awards you the Hearty Polish (three eggs, 2 oz. Swojska, Jubilat bacon, home fries and toast) or the NYC special (three eggs scrambled with smoked salmon, red onion, topped with sour cream, rye toast). Each brunch arrives with a choice of mimosa or beer and unlimited coffee. Skip the “world famous” beer shake. It’s nasty.
