Michael Bao loves to name his restaurants after himself. There's Bar Bao and Bao Noodles, Baoguette, and the newest entry in the Bao-kingdom, BaoBQ. Keeping with the Thai theme, BaoBQ offers grill-kissed meats (pork belly satay) and fish (charred cuttle fish). If you're a vegetarian, you'll find yourself at an ordering loss amid the spare rib bulgogi and chicken wings; even the green mango salad is peppered with protein, in this case a smoked beef jerky. The daily smoked meat selection even extends itself to the noodle section of the menu where bun nem nuong and bun cha ca can be found. True to today's Asian sandwich trend, Michael Bao throws his version into the mix. The BaoBQ banh mi features chicken liver and rotisserie chicken jazzed up with green papaya, cilantro and jalapeno.
