Harlem's jumps into the 'cue fray with this tiny storefront. The co-owner, Paul Packard, hails from Tulsa, Okla., and brings with him a recipe that’s been in his family since 1936. The meats are smoked for two hours using five different kinds of woods, and then braised afterward with sauces and drippings. For a showstopper, order the pork ribs (it’s a towering creation), along with worthy sides such as cucumber-and-tomato salad. Just don’t skip on the sweet stuff: their cheesecake alone is worth the trek to 145th Street.
