Piccola Venezia

In business since 1973, Piccola Venezia is something of an Italian institution in Astoria. First-time diners will immediately feel as if they've wandered a little too south onto an abandoned Sopranos set at SilverCup Studios: the dark wood-panelled bar and banquet hall-style dining area are vintage classic New York. The menu's overstuffed with hearty, huge portions of traditional Northern Italian classics: be sure to try the osso bucco or any one of the seafood specials. The evening wouldn't be complete without a classic pistachio cannoli, and pausing for a moment to take it all in. Be sure to call ahead for reservations: this place gets packed early and often.
