A undeniably sexy vibe pervades this Flatiron restaurant: Cool Brazilian music (and live jazz on the weekends) provides the soundtrack; a sleek interior that emphasizes bright, punchy colors is the backdrop for a lively young crowd that flocks for the grazing rights to a menu with lots of choices and lots of ways to put together a meal.

In addition to a sushi bar that also does various ceviches, the raw bar serves up fresh lobster and crabs. Cooked preparations include starters like steamed clams and empanadas with shrimp and manchego cheese. Mains include skewered meats, fish, and salads. For dessert, there's a mango mousse and a chocolate tamale, among other choices. The bar is a scene unto itself, with bartenders mixing up house cocktails like mojitos, martinis, caipirinhas and pisco sours. Exuberance is a house trademark, and a noise level that goes over the top is a predictable accompaniment to those high spirits.

Although it can get pretty loud and crowded in here, the sushi is surprisingly good and the variety is vast. The latin fusion element works well an...
