The southeast corner of Second Avenue and East Fourth Street has been on a bit of a losing streak of late—the winds of change saw dive 2 x 4 become clubbier Ambiance and Evolution. Now it looks like the owners have gone the gastropub route with the opening of Queen Vic, a by-the-numbers London-style pub with bangers and mash, toad-in-the-hole and other lovely British classics. Five homemade puddings and an afternoon tea selection takes any thought of fusion out of the equation. Beers are the standard British import (Guinness, Tetley, New Castle) and no-frill domestics.
