With Peter's Since 1969 a few blocks down Ninth Avenue, The Theater District can be dubbed The Rotisserie Chicken District. This spot adds a little Spanish flair to the spits, roasting their chicken Colombian-style in an apparatus that's proudly displayed in the front window. The eatery is really set up for grab-and-go service, but the space does have a few tables setup in the back, along with a small bar in the front where you can sit an enjoy your roasted bird with sides like plantains and rice. Dinner won't cost you much at this space, you can get a full meal for under $15. They do serve beer and wine, with simple cocktails like margaritas. If you are taking out, grab a bottle to go with the poultry at the Ninth Avenue Vintners right next door—it's one of the best liquor stores in the hood.
