Nothing is subtle about Buddakan, Stephen Starr's mega-eatery in the Meatpacking District. Guests are greeted by a two-story great hall where giant chandeliers hang, and smaller dining areas—among them a library filled with golden bookshelves—are scattered about. The menu features a modern-Asian take on dim sum, noodles and classics like Peking duck. A lengthy wine list is on hand, as are creative cocktails like the Tranquility, which is made with lemongrass-infused oolong tea and citrus vodka.
