No. 7
- Neighborhood: Fort Greene
- 7 Greene Ave.
- Brooklyn, NY 11238
- No listing
- Price range: $$$ ($16-$25)
Following in the footsteps of Fort Greene newcomer The General Greene, No. 7 brings together the talents of chef Tyler Kord (Perry St), manager Matt Suchomski (Lil Frankie's) and designer Matthew Maddy (Weather Up) as they serve hearty new American cuisine in this laid-back but polished spot. For now, the small menu focuses on American cuisine with just a hint of Eastern European and Asian influence: The hanger steak arrives with kimchi pierogi and yellow squash. Down the line, expect a late-night bar menu that Kord paradoxically calls "non-comfortable comfort food" featuring "big bowls of unusual stuff that you can dip bread in” while sipping the one of 10 wines available by the glass daily or local brews like Genesee Cream ale on tap.

Need to go for seconds
I went to a food event last night with many restaurants featured, and there were many delicious dishes that I tried that I now need to eat in full instead of a sample! These were some of my favorites.
