Upstairs from clandestine cave-club Chloe 81—where French brasserie Casanis used to serve middling brasserie grub—Le Cubain has become the LES’ latest experiment with Cuban fusion cuisine. Duck confit cubanos, anyone? The décor doesn’t really scream Havana with deep red banquettes and black-and-white checkered tiles. It looks a lot like French brasserie Casanis! Mojitos are served. Scene is served. A double shot of scene is served downstairs.
