Carnival Wednesdays at Smoke

As they are wont to do, this classy jazz house takes events and holidays and—well—jazzes them up. And although the Brazilian Carnival festival is more samba than swing, every Wednesday here at Smoke (starting at 10:30 p.m.) sees Eve Cornelious and Mosaic take the stage and crank up the night with danceable Latin be-bop. However, music is only the icing as the kitchen will serve up the South American standard feijoada—a pork and beef-powered bean stew that will stick to your ribs—all ready to be washed down with requisite caipirinhas.
