Sunday Grilled Cheese Menu at Smith's
Just when you thought George Foreman had cornered the Sunday-night grilled-cheese market, Smith’s, on MacDougal, enters the ring. From 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. every Sunday, head to the hidden back bar (don’t worry, it’s not “Al Capone’s Tomb” hidden) for an upscale grilled-cheese menu just like Mom used to make (assuming your old lady attended Le Cordon Bleu). Among the offerings—which will set you back $10 to $12 and come with shoestring fries, arugula salad and sumac pickles—are a grilled brie with truffled honey and sliced prosciutto, and a Humboldt Fog goat cheese (from the renowned Northern California producers Cypress Grove) with pears and arugula.
Tuck into one of these Sunday-night treats and a glass of wine, and you may just forget about that truffled-honey-free Monday that’s closing in fast.
