Odessa's been around forever, and pretty much anyone who's lived in the East Village has spent at least one late night/early morning there, scarfing down blintzes and drinking one last beer or two. Odessa's divided in half: One half is a straight-up diner, serving burgers and Ukrainian specialties, the other half serves food from the same huge menu, but with a full bar. It's not the place to spend the whole night, but it's the perfect spot if you're just getting started on a night out -- or if you're not ready to head home just yet.

"A dive bar in the best sense of the word"

One of my favorite spots in the East Village, you can always rely on Odessa for some greasy food and cheap drinks.
