If not for its simple, elegant, seasonal, multicultural menu, Bar 36’s ultra industrial-chic-meets-organic design draws in the night owls from happy hour till the wee hours. And because it’s in Astoria (not Soho), It’s impossible to not be impressed by the restaurant and martini lounge’s stunning visuals: Wire bouquets hang upside down from the ceiling, blooming with light bulbs; a sexy, lounge atmosphere of plush couches and small tables beckons.  Renovations are in progress, so come 2009 the space will be more dance-friendly. For now, savor favorites like espresso-sambucca steak and Mediterranean-inspired samplers with caramel-apple or blue-curaco-blend martinis.
