East Village: Comfort food gets a calorie-conscious redo at Northern Spy Food Co., with an emphasis on vegetable-centric cooking. The shop is also stocked with a wide range of local, artisanal and sustainable pantry items.

Gramercy: Newly minted four-starer Danny Meyer is booked at the Gramercy Park Hotel with Maialino, his highly anticipated Roman trattoria.

Greenwich Village: Wine-centric bistro, Bar Henry has crafted a 200-bottle wine program with vintages from South Africa to Spain, along with global bites like caviar-accented blinis and short rib corn tacos.

East Village: Greenwich Village burger joint Patty & Bun grills up ooh-la-la varieties like pastured lamb, monkfish and salmon.

Windor Terrace: The nabe can now get its Francophilic fix at by-the-numbers bistro Le P'Tit Paris, with usual suspects like steak tartare and coq au vin.

West Village: The third location of Danny Abrams' popular Mermaid franchise, Mermaid Oyster Bar, opens at the old Smith's space.
