After a car crashed through the window of this beloved soul food spot in early 2009, owner/fry daddy Charles Gabriel decided to go back to his roots. Gabriel, who entered the world of food as the steward of a fried chicken truck, is showcasing his frying skills at the newly rebuilt restaurant. While the menu is anchored by Gabriel's trademark cluckers—crispy skin, moist meat—old stalwarts like baked chicken, pork shoulder and crispy pig's feet, still remain. Aside from takeout, the buffet table has returned for all-you-can-eat frenzy.
