What do you think of the events so far?
It's obviously a well-orchestrated PR event for the Food Network. The level of quality I'm getting is varying. I think Southern Wine had some incredible products at the Meatpacking Uncorked tasting. On balance, it's been fine. It's just not as food-focused, I guess.
What's the worst restaurant you visited this year?
Redstripe, which is in Providence. It's run by a guy who's a big restaurateur and owns about a third of the city's notable places. It's not terrible, but it lacks care. I'd much rather go have a really, really well-constructed burrito in the back of a store than suffer though some of this stuff.
