After a day of demos, seminars and walking tours, it was time for a sugar fix at the NYC Wine & Food Festival. They obliged with SWEET at La Venue in Chelsea, where Lindsay Lohan's main squeeze, DJ Samantha Ronson, jockeyed the turntable and New York's finest pastry chefs dished out the sweet, sweet treats.
We scored some face time with sugar-meisters like Alex Stupak (wd-50), Johnny Iuzzini (Jean Georges) and Michael Laiskonis (Le Bernardin); had an up-close look at "Ace of Cakes" star Duff Goldman's tattoo; and got a jaw dropping verdict from one very excited lady on the night's biggest hit: a racy pink push-pop laced with caramel, chocolate-covered pretzels and vanilla ice cream. —Pervaiz Shallwani
