Dirt Candy
March 31, 2009
For someone like me, a restaurant called Dirt Candy has very little going for it. One, they don't serve meat. And two, at some point in the past they must have been like: "So here are the final results of our restaurant naming meeting—Dirt Candy: 9 votes. Trash 4 Supper: 8 votes. The Dirt Candy's have it by one!" What I'm saying is, this is sort of a terrible name. But this truffled crostini with portobello mousse and pear fennel compote was my favorite dish of the night, and by far the one with the best presentation. It was crazy good. Our lovely photographer inquired if I would mind eating another, for a better picture? "Anything for a story," I replied. And then I demolished about three of them. YOU'RE WELCOME.
