No Morandi for Jody: One month (almost to the day!) after Frank Bruni scalded Morandi with a "brutalizing" review, Eater confirmed the rumor—after deciphering a badly punctuated whiff of it on the boards at behind-the-scenes-restaurant blog PX This—that chef Jody Williams has split.

Stripped of ‘Striped'? Eater reports that the bouncing new addition to the Bloomfield-Friedman-Batali- Bastianich family—a seafood spot in the Meatpacking District—has a tenative name: The Striped Marlin. Now that it's up and running as The John Dory, we wonder what else might have been on the shortlist. The Mackerel? The Tilapia? The Scrod? 

10 Downing set to open, perhaps June? Eater posts fresh photos of the much anticipated (and maligned) 10 Downing—minus the plywood—thanks to a tipster who also snuck in boldly to grab interior shots. Although one sous-chef reportedly left because of the delays, Eater optimistically predicts a June opening.
