Casseroles are cool at this granny-chic Brooklyn bash

There's no doubt we're in the middle of a throwback comfort-food revolution. Buzzwords like foie gras and Kobe have been replaced in the food lexicon by fried chicken and duck fat. The Fifth Annual Casserole Party, hosted by Casserole Crazy author Emily Farris at Brooklyn Label on Tuesday night, couldn't have come at a better time. Much like your mother's (or more likely, grandmother's) casserole parties, this one called for every attendee to bring a casserole to pass, for an evening of shared baked masterpieces. Granny would be proud.

What was the winning casserole? Or maybe a crowd favorite?
