Worst kitchen injury you've witnessed?
For me personally, it was when a butcher knife fell off the block and went directly into my foot. But the worst I have seen was at Café Boulud when a young chef slipped on the stairs while carrying two five-pound pots of boiling chicken stock with fat. He was in the hospital for months.
Did he come back to the kitchen?
Of course! He's the chef at DB Bistro in Vancouver. He's a real sport and has the scars to prove it.
