Puglia
We now have the caffeine jitters. The only cure is a cool glass of beer. A few blocks away, we spy Puglia (189 Hester St., 212-966-6006). The 1919 restaurant is housed in an old tenement building that's painted like the Italian flag. Cheesy, sure, but its selling point is found on a sign announcing $2 beers in the bar. A drink deal in Little Italy? We must be delusional.
