Beppe might easily belong on our list of super-fancy Italians restaurants (see sidebar), but its sincere attempt to recall a Tuscan village lands it here—even though most entrees sit well over the $30 mark. But when the most-ordered item is a platter of crunchy, herbed Tuscan fries, we'll let this one slum it a bit. Sunny, country decor heavy on the terra cotta hosts a moneyed Flatiron crowd, while the wood-burning oven adds that smoky shot to most of those luxe entrees.
