American Trash
Credit:Dan Peterson
A motley collection of locals and Upper East Side bros (and the girls who love them) stop by American Trash (1471 First Ave.) to watch sports, play pool and drink themselves silly at this tongue-in-cheek dive bar.
Proud to be an American?
Catering to the American love of an affordable buzz, manager Nikki calls this no-frills establishment “one of the cheapest bars in the neighborhood.” The 28 beers on tap and seven available in bottles skew toward imports, but domestic classics like Bud, Coors Light and Blue Point should satisfy those with a thirst for native nectars.
Spangled-star rating: 3
A handful of TVs, a pool table and a dive aesthetic in a hotbed of Upper East Side refinement make this a legitimately American bar.
