A preview of the top treats at this year's mega dessert bash
Bring on the sugar rush! SWEET, the dessert bash of the NYC Wine & Food Festival, returns Oct. 10 to la.venue on West 28th Street, with over 30 participants comprising a who's who of acclaimed pastry chefs (Dominique Ansel, Karen DeMasco), luxe chocolatiers (Godiva) and top cake shops (Ron Ben-Israel).
To help you survive the sugar fantasia, we're calling out notable dishes from this year's lineup—along with exclusive, diabetes-inducing photos. (Believe us, you're gonna need the help: Last year, we didn't last 15 minutes at SWEET before OD'ing on mousse, cakes and cream. Pacing, pacing!) We've also asked the chefs for tips on how to cure a sugar hangover (burgers, really?), and what inspired their dishes for SWEET. Hint: Katy Perry's "Hot N Cold" generated some real heat.
