The name pretty much describes the menu switcheroo that David Bouley has pulled at the old Danube, where he’s seceded its Austrian menu in favor of a more casual French-Italian version. Expect a slew of homemade terrines and pates, plus classics like mushroom risotto and escargot with Vidalia onions and tarragon dressing. And as a throwback, Danube’s popular wiener schnitzel (with cucumber-yogurt salad and lindonberry chutney) pops up on Secession’s menu as well. The ornate, Klimt-esque murals are still here, now accented by shades of crimson and more streamlined banquettes.
