I love the paninis
By bllwntr from astoria, December 2, 2009

The service sorta comes and goes - last week my waitress was really slow - but the food is consistently good and the wine list is amazing. I would go there just for the cheese but I love the paninis and the filet is really fantastic. Plus, at dinner time there are a lot of hot chicks to look at. Goes with the whole wine/chocolate thing I guess.

Exciting Place

Our waitress was all smiles and really sweet. Made us feel really welcome and knew a lot about the menu. The portions were pretty small but it meant we got to try a lot of things. The truffle pizza was fantastic.

cucumber water
By Mark Munafo from Manhattan, August 9, 2008

This is probly lame to comment about but they put cucumbes in there water! genius! I would never expect that and it’s so good. Going to start doing it when I’m at home. Little cucumber water and some cheese and I’m a happy boy. I know I sound gay right now but I don’t care.

Best Wine Bar in New York City
By New Yorker from Midtown New York, July 19, 2008

Overall rating:

When it comes to wine bars in NYC, this place is tops. This place is way nicer than you’d expect. It’s really tiny but totally upscale and chic, especially for the neighborhood. My husband brought me here for our anniversary and I wasn’t so sure when he told me the neighborhood. But when we got there I just loved it. It’s pretty and sleek and the food is to die for. We had a cheese plate to share which was great (but a little small). Then he got the filet and I got the chicken. Both were amazing. The lavender sauce on the chicken is so different and great for summer, and that filet was fabulous. Of course as expected the wines are awesome, and the manager came over to tell us all about them. He was a little hard to understand (the accent) but by the end we were good friends. He was so friendly and told us the story of how he and his friend opened this place, which made me love it all the more. Definitely save room for dessert too. This crepe cake thing that they have was phenomenal! All in all, it was just a fantastic find. And affordable for what it is too.

Good for a change
By PatriMait from Midtown, February 16, 2008

Ayza is a great place to eat before heading to Madison Square Garden. I had a fantastic meal and the service was excellent. They have friendly staff and reasonable prices so I'd love to go again. A nice change from some of noisy pubs.
