The ghosts of the famed 19th century Montmartre salon are all gathered at this namesaked "gastro bistro" on the Upper East Side, which offers all the traditional delights of Paris cafe society, minus the smoking, the artistic angst and the vie bohome. Simple, fresh ingredients are the focus of the intimate and impressive Left Bank kitchen, which go beyond the bouillabaisse and steak frites and have featured Cabernet braised short ribs with Jerusalem artichoke puree, escargot with mini ravioli, and a roasted saddle of rabbit "roulade".
