After launching a mini-chain of Scandinavian restaurants, the team behind Smorgas Chef has opened the first of what they hope will be many Crepe du Nord locations. This French/Scandinavian wine bar and creperie offers a wide range of sweet and savory crepes, all made a la minute allowing for maximum freshness. The buckwheat crepes are filled with everything from goat cheese and lemon butter to spiced herring to dulce de leche. An intriguing cloudberry cream variety highlights this hard-to-find bright orange berry that only grows in cold northern climates and tastes something like a peach/orange hybrid. While this spot is perfect for dates of the double or single variety, groups larger than four might have a hard time getting a table, and management warns that because of the a la minute preparation method, the quality of the crepes will suffer for larger parties as well.
