Close enough to the trendy Meatpacking District to hear Blahniks clacking on cobblestone, but not that close to see if they're fake or not, this sceney restaurant is a downtown version of the Lesort brothers uptown French spot. The traditional menu is not especially innovative, but is regional and varying enough to satisfy Parisian expats and Euro hipsters. Go for the roasted whole branzino provencal, the cassoulet de Toulouse and a duck & truffle terrine to start. The place is always bustling with attractive people, and it's not just the location or the outdoor patio—the dining room is spare and elegant (hardwood floors, modern art, beige fabric), and even models like to save a buck (Sunday is Sommelier Night—50% off wine).
