After the landlord ousted much beloved French bistro Le Madeleine in order to erect a multi-story residential building, it was only a matter of months before he replaced it with this, yet another French bistro with a ready-made following thanks to its long-standing sister restaurant, Café Un Deux Trois, on the other side of Broadway (but in his defense, have you seen what’s happened to the housing market lately?). In other words, you can still get your fix of affordable French fare like steak frites, pan bagnat (a ciabatta pouch stuffed with tomato, radish, egg, peppers, onions, cucumbers, anchovies and tuna) and lamb shank doused in a lemon confit before catching a show nearby. There’s also a three-course prix-fixe menu ($24.50) for theatergoers that has you covered from pate to profiteroles.
