The late Dr. Atkins would be proud. This Midtown Bistro serves just one main course: steak. While New York diners are clearly spoiled by variety, they'll have to check their fickleness at the door since this spin-off of an incredibly popular Paris restaurant sticks to the philosophy that you should do one thing and do it well. The namesake cut of beef, entrecôte, is topped with the restaurant's famous porte maillot herbed butter sauce and served with french fries and a green salad with walnuts. Once you've cleaned your plate, there's a bit more variety; desserts include flourless chocolate cake, crème brûlée and various fruit tarts. But management insists that if New Yorkers are anything like their Parisian counterparts, at least three out of four diners will finish their meal with the signature ice cream profiteroles.
