Onetime Boucarou owner Patrice Bihina loved his French granny's cooking so much, he's now named his new Lower East Side bistro-crêperie after her. Go, go grandma! Turns out, she used to own a slew of bed and breakfasts from La Rochelle to Alsace, and so Bihina hopes to capture a kind of homey, welcoming vibe. Grand-mère's recipes certainly pop up as well: Her steamed mussels with green peppercorn sauce is the first dish Bihina ever remembers her cooking, while her "beurre de lina" sauce (butter, garlic, parsley) is drizzled on hanger steak and broiled scallops. As for the crepes—which can also be ordered from a sidewalk takeout window—Bihina says they'll be authentically French. Excusez-moi? Translation: thin, thin, thin, and meant to be held and eaten like a sandwich—no supersize stuffings here.
