One of the more impressive dining experiences in the city, both because of enfant terrible chef Jean-Georges homage to Southeast Asian street food and the Meatpacking District space's epically exotic design. The low-lit temple-like dining room is cavernous but manages to feel intimate, with multiple floors connected by a dramatic staircase and plenty of nooks to huddle in, including cabanas and a lively open-kitchen bar. The menu, conceived in collaboration with Gray Kunz, is equally as exciting: try the spicy Thai chicken wings with mango and mint, the nonya seafood laksa Gulf shrimp and scallop, the red curried duck and the pork vindaloo. A perfect place for a romantic dinner or people watching, and not too pricey considering its pedigree.
