The owners of this Curry Hill factory have big ambitions. “You can consider us the Indian Subway,” says a manager about the shop’s concept: made-to-order kathi rolls with interchangeable condiments (tomato, green pepper, egg) piled on top of pockets stuffed with chickpea, grilled chicken kababs and curried lamb. The rolls are popular in India (they originate in Kolkata) and have been sold in NYC for years. But the owners (who also run nearby Bhatti) stress that their $5 pockets are special. “If somebody eats one, they will want it again and again,” says the manager. The 19-seat restaurant is BYOB and has TVs tuned to cricket. Free Wi-Fi is available.
