Chef Mina Azad's foodie following has stuck with her, from Sunnyside to Manhattan's Sixth Street and now back to Queens in Woodside, where her rent is likely lower but her Bangladeshi cuisine continues to elevate. The space (spare, with plastic-covered tables and tile flooring) feels like the same simple Old World kitchen where Mina started her authentic Southeast Asian fare. Nan, mint, ginger and curry are all familiar flavors, though everything is much spicier than the en masse Curry Row pandering. Try unique dishes shrimp dopeaja, fish biriyani with saffron rice and a vegetarian Bhendi massala. Don't be dissuaded by the empty tables or slow service—some people are too lazy to travel for good food, including the media.
