Carmine's Original Pizza

Ok. Quite simply, the pizza is exactly right. Carmine has been doing this for over 35 years and it totally shows. As another reviewer mentioned, the crust is perfect. I have had so many slices from other places, and carmine has absolutely perfected the New York slice. I also consider myself a bit of a garlic knot connoisseur, and these are the best bar none.

Carmine's is the best tasting pizza I've had in years. I'm from Greenpoint originally but have lived in the Midwest for the last 35 years. Whenever I'm back in New York (still love/miss it), I make sure to get my fill of Carmine's standard cheese pizza (usually multiple times during my stays). It's the closest thing to what I long considered the best pizza anywhere/anytime: the old Joanne's Pizza on Manhattan Avenue back when I was a kid in the Fifties. To me, it was a place of happy memories, a nickle jukebox, and great pizza. Carmine's, which I only discovered some five years ago has now taken that spot in my heart. And to think that what I was missing for all those years when I frequented a much inferior pizza place in the old neighborhood. As I've told Carmine, I just wish there was some way to order in a supply for overnight delivery -- middle America doesn't know what GOOD pizza is!

Carmines has been a favorite of mine for 11 years. Pizza, Hot Heros and Salads that will not let you down. Prices are fair.,Quality food at great prices for value receieved. Service is friendly and quick. Food orders are made to order, not precooked and reheated. Specials are at the whim of Carmine himself. You have to stop by and see what he has whipped up.
The photo is another Carmines on Graham Ave, drink prices are for the other store. The location is not owned by Carmine....Hense ORIGINAL

While the menu is vast, prices are ok ,good service at the tables only and the best regular pizza around. The specialty pies are not what they are cracked up to be. The take out/counter has to be improved. The counter help act like they are doing you a big favor by serving you. The servers in the back are great and friendly. The food is very good and the portions are nice. The owner is a nice guy but does not take even minor complaints in a businesslike manner. OVERALL its worth a try.

I heard about Carmines a few years ago and tried it out. Being from long Island didn't stop me I travel out to see carmine and his staff at least once a week to get some pizza and entrees for the week. The way carmine makes his pizza is better than others because if you ever had it you will notice the crust isn't real thick like other places leaving more flavor. I personally don't like pizza to thick. His entrees are amazing I often get Chicken Parm sometimes veal but I try to mix it up. When the feast was at OLMC I left the feast to get a sausage and pepper hero. They are made fresh and not sitting around getting burnt. If you go tell him Charlie says hi.
