The DiPalo family has been slinging dairy on Mott Street for over 100 years. While others might use that longevity as an excuse to coast, the DiPalos continue to improve and refine their offerings. The shop’s cheese expert, Louis DiPalo, travels to Italy several times a year to sample regional cheeses that often vary by season/ Besides the aged and imported cheeses, there’s an on-site operation turning out fresh mozzarella, pillowy burrata and other homemade specialties. While DiPalo's started as a dairy-focused latteria, it has over the years morped into a full-service Italian specialty shop. You’ll find everything you need for a feast—cured meats, olive oil, pasta, sauces—all curated by the DiPalo family. Once you’ve chosen the night’s menu, swing next door to the adjoining enoteca, where an incredible range of Italian-only wines awaits your choosing.
