Amaranth’s Paola Pedrignani has opened a second location of this Italian eatery (the first is on the Upper East Side) in the space formerly home to the legendary P&G Bar. The name (literally "Gina, the Baker’s Daughter") was inspired by her father, Gino, and a painting by Raphael, and alludes to the restaurant’s focus on bread. The menu contains typical Italian carb-centric staples such as pasta, panini and pizza (including their popular mozzarella, mascarpone and truffle-oil pie). The owners plan to eventually serve both breakfast and lunch at both locations.
