For years, Grimaldi's (previously known as Patsy's) has been the hands-down tops of Brooklyn pizza. With so many quality pizza restaurants challenging Grimaldi's for the prize, it may not hold that title much longer. Looking for real "New York" pizza, tourists flock by the busload to this cramped dining room underneath the Brooklyn Bridge. The thin-crust pizza—sold by the pie only, no slices—is generally well worth the lengthy wait (the line frequently snakes around the corner). Locals know to stop by during off hours, when getting a table is as easy as enjoying the authentic pies.

New York Stomping Grounds
As a former New Yorker (now transplanted in the Midwest), these are some of the places I usually visit when I am back in the Big Apple.
