With a name like Il Bordello, you can't blame Chelsea gallery-goers who stumble upon this new spot for wondering if their meal with be followed by an off-the-menu "dessert." But owner Jasmine Zafaranloo quickly preempts any X-rated speculation saying, "People think brothel, but to me, the name's about unpredictability, chaos and a fun atmosphere." Yet sybarites can take comfort knowing their comestible, rather than carnal, appetites will be indulged with Mediterranean dishes like Tunisian stuffed peppers and whole red snapper. Those looking to fill the tank for a rough week ahead should stop in for the Italian family-style Sunday night prix fixe ($45 per person): Start with a bread, cheese and salumi plate; follow with the pasta course; then tuck in to a crock-pot of sausages and meatballs; and finish with dessert. So while patrons might not find exactly what they expected, they’ll still emerge from this Bordello with many of their needs met.
