A DJ booth seems out of place inside a rustic, barrel-and-bulb, Maurizio's-in-the-cellar-chopping-garlic Italian restaurant, until you step outside and see that you're at the uber-trendy intersection of Gansevoort and Greenwich. The best reason to dine here is for the outdoor sidewalk tables, where you people-watch wannabe models getting their stillettos stuck in cobblestone and packs of dudes sniffing out Pastis, Tenjune, the Maritime and other Meatpacking District scenes. The food—panzanella salad, short rigatoni in country meat sauce, a burger on brioche and unlimited cocktails at brunch—isn't worth cancelling your Tuscany trip for, but it's not bad either.

Close your eyes and imagine yourself in an farm house in tuscanny. The wine list is probably the best in the city. The food is hearty and delicious.
