Nino's Positano
- Neighborhood: Midtown East
- 890 Second Ave.
- New York, NY 10017
- 212-355-5540
- Price range: $$$ ($16-$25)
This solid but slightly stuffy Midtown Italian restaurant, of Nino's and Osso Bucco lineage, received a breath of fresh air when it added the Bellissima Pizza component to its ouevre—about 20 different pies, from a Calciofi with prosciutto to cotto to Vongole with white clam sauce. The rest of the menu leans toward seafood (Positano is a town on the Amalfi coast, near Naples), like zucchini-potato crusted salmon, a whole roasted branzino and the signature lobster fra diavolo for two, self-pluckable from their in-house tank. The back dining room, with service called spotty by some and European by others, has sandstone-colored walls, white tablecloths and an even tourist-to-local ratio.
